- New free-standing campus that includes an emergency center and MOB See Video Animation
- 36,000 SF Emergency Center which included 10-inpatient beds for potential overnight stay without transporting to parent hospitals
- 40,000 SF MOB with connecting corridor to Emergency Center; allowing convenience to patients and physicians
- The new facility was a joint venture of two hospital systems (Mount Carmel Health System and Fairfield Medical Center). Communication and cooperation by all parties were key ingredients to the success of this project
- Planning of facilities had to allow for future expansion of campus to include a full-fletched hospital, additional MOB’s, associated parking growth, and circulation on the campus. Layout of departments, mechanical equipment, exterior walls and placement of structures on site had to recognize anticipated growth
- Both hospital systems recognized benefits of pursuing LEED Certification for the Emergency Center as a minimum
