New free-standing campus that includes an emergency center and MOB See Video Animation
36,000 SF Emergency Center which included 10-inpatient beds for potential overnight stay without transporting to parent hospitals
40,000 SF MOB with connecting corridor to Emergency Center; allowing convenience to patients and physicians
The new facility was a joint venture of two hospital systems (Mount Carmel Health System and Fairfield Medical Center). Communication and cooperation by all parties were key ingredients to the success of this project
Planning of facilities had to allow for future expansion of campus to include a full-fletched hospital, additional MOB’s, associated parking growth, and circulation on the campus. Layout of departments, mechanical equipment, exterior walls and placement of structures on site had to recognize anticipated growth
Both hospital systems recognized benefits of pursuing LEED Certification for the Emergency Center as a minimum
