This one-hour free webinar is designed as an overview of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The explosion of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability into mainstream business decision-making has been fueled by a number of events, such as environmental pollution, and the increasing scarcity and competition for natural resources (the “green factor”). It has become evident that the long-term success or failure of a business depends on making the right decisions and producing a well thought out plan in mitigating environmental risks and taking advantage of new opportunities. Factoring sustainability principles and practices into decision-making has become the new imperative for business and financial sustainability.
Learning Objectives
· Identify the basic concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility, green business and corporate sustainability.
· Identify and discuss the three dimensions of sustainability (people, planet and profit), and apply socially responsible sustainability into organizational context.
· Explain the business case for sustainability and why some say that may not be sufficient to solve current environmental and social problems, while others believe it is the only thing that can.
· Identify common objectives to arguments for corporate sustainability and provide convincing rebuttals.
· List various social, environmental and financial motivators and drivers that are impacting the growth of corporate social responsibility.
· Identify the role of government as policy setter and recognize how this is interpreted by the business community.
